Today, Puspanjalee has over 30 million visitors across her two blogs – My Writing, My World, and Foodie On The Road – and pursues blogging full-time.
In a Community Chat at the HerStory Women On A Mission Facebook institution, Puspanjalee shared her expert insights on running a blog and how to make a career out of it.

Edited excerpts from the chat:

HerStory: I have multiple pastimes, but how do I decide which subject matter to weblog about?

Puspanjalee Das Dutta: Write about the whole lot you care for. After some months, you may discover that you are more at ease in speakme about a specific interest. This is similarly cherished by way of the target audience. That’s your subject matter or area of interest for the blog – a topic that you love to speak about, and your target audience is looking ahead to studying.

HS: How much time do I need to spend on running a blog if I take it up as a profession? Can I do that at the side of my day job?

PDD: It depends on what section you’re at on your running a blog adventure. Some can also need to spend five hours daily, while others may also want to offer 2-four hours. I, in my opinion, spend 5-6 hours on weekdays. And yes, blogging can be finished as a hustle at the side of daily activity.

HS: How do I maintain to remain influenced while the first few blog posts do not obtain much advantageous reaction?

PDD: I stopped running a blog completely due to a lack of reaction, but in the end, it turned into my love for writing.

The first blog posts are continually tough. Nobody knows you, and nobody cares what you are doing. In such instances, be energetic on social media, share your weblog hyperlinks, but most importantly, speak to other bloggers. Read other people’s blogs and post them on social media; the bloggers always reciprocate.

Blogging is likewise not pretty much you. It’s about what your target market desires as well. If you love to create content that allows human beings, you continue doing it. Being constant is one of the matters that make for achievement within the blogging international. Networking is another key to a successful blog.

HS: I want to begin a blog with an approximate style. However, I’m now not an author. How do I move about this?

PDD: You do not need to be a creator to be a blogger. You can begin by writing short snippets with pictorial instructions as your weblog post. If you are comfortable with the camera, start video-running a blog. It is not just tutorials but also about how to be fashionable in finance, everyday style, and cozy apparel.

I strongly propose that you start writing in brief snippets, and as soon as you know what’s operating for you and your desired audience, pick out the higher layout.

HS: Can one begin being profitable from day one with running a blog, or does it happen over the years? How does one convert writing into a cash-making venture?

PDD:

If you have commenced a weblog simply because every different man or woman is a blogger and you no longer have a plan, you may never earn an unmarried penny. But if you are blogging with a cause and have discovered a few such things as affiliate advertising, then sure, you can earn cash from the first day. Making money from a blog is a commercial enterprise. And like some other enterprise, it needs work, exercise, and consistency.
