Applying for a visa waiver is as simple as logging onto the Customs and Border Patrol agency’s ESTA website and filling out the details on your passport. The system gives a response within 1 minute. The response could be successful, unsuccessful, or tell you to wait for some time as more verification is done.

How long is it valid?
The visa waiver is valid for 2 consecutive years. This will allow you for multiple entries into the US for stays lasting less than 90 days.
