However, it is important to be aware that they are electrical conductors. This means they can be unsafe if used near electrical tools or cables. Additionally, while aluminum is strong, it can bend under pressure, leaving it unstable and twisted over time. This is particularly true if it has been in contact with corrosive saltwater. 

The last option is fiberglass. Fiberglass has all the benefits of wood and aluminum put together. It is strong, it is durable, it is lightweight, it won’t electrocute you, and it won’t warp over time. Unfortunately, it is also costly and well beyond the reach of most people’s budget, including the average DIY or handyman. However, if you ever come across a deal on a fiberglass ladder, you should consider it. That said, aluminum is the best alternative option.
