Moving can be a real pain, both figuratively and physically. There are so many things to go through, pack, and move that it’s extremely time-consuming. And you can’t just pack up and go, and you also have to clean the place you’re leaving behind.
You do want to do that last part because it could be during that cleaning that you find things that you may have left behind otherwise, like that old credit card bill under the fridge in the kitchen. That last cleaning and last sweep of your old home could save you even more future headaches.
Protect Yourself
If you leave behind any paperwork with your name on it, social security number, credit card numbers, or any other personal information, you are asking for trouble. Moving shouldn’t be when you get lax about protecting your identity or your money.

Please read everything before you sign it, and watch what information you are giving people. You may be hiring movers or talking to new renters, and you don’t want your personal information in the wrong hands.
Protect Your Belongings
You also want to protect the things that you own. Make sure that you are packing breakables in ways that will help keep them from breaking. Mark boxes so that you know what is in what and so that you know which ones contain those fragile items so you can take extra care of them.
Also, make sure to pack valuables and that personal paperwork safely and in something that doesn’t give away what is in the box but lets you know to keep an eye on its whereabouts.
Clean As You Go
The time consumption of moving is one of the stressful parts of it, but you can cut down on some of that time by cleaning as you go. Once a room is packed, clean it up. Then you can leave that room knowing that it’s ready to go and just give it a once over on your final sweep.
Hire Movers
Hiring movers to do the job for you can also cut down on time consumption and stress. You can get movers that will do the packing for you, or you can have everything all packed, and they will do the loading and unloading for you. Either way, it takes some strain off your back and of your mind.
Get The Lay Of The Land
Know your new place before your stuff gets there. Mark your boxes with which rooms in the new place they belong in so they can go directly there to be unpacked and put away. This will save you a ton of time and stress.
Moving doesn’t have to be hard, so why make it any harder than it is. Make a plan, and do things the easiest and smartest way you can!
