Springtime means different things to different people. To some, it means cleaning and organizing; to others, it means sneezing and a high pollen count; and for many Americans, it means baseball season. With America’s favorite pastime in full swing (pun intended), the time has come to start hosting celebration parties. There is no wrong way to do this, but here are some great tips for throwing a fun and memorable baseball party. Guests will be rooting for the home team in no time.
Check Into Renting a Space
Sometimes, the amount of people attending a party outweighs the size of the home. If so, don’t sweat it; find an alternate location. The local sports bar is usually a good idea, so check availability once the guest list is completed. Reserve a spot large enough for everyone attending. The amount of space isn’t the only benefit of having the party elsewhere. The huge T.V.s can show multiple games simultaneously, and catering services are onsite. Check with the owner and see if any deals on food or drinks come with making a reservation. If possible, work with the kitchen beforehand and arrange for appetizers to be served in a hot food bar. Guests can enjoy all the warm snacks they want during all nine innings.
Support the Team
Encourage good energy for the team on the day of the party. Whatever baseball team is nearest and dearest, support it by wearing its colors. Get creative with small touches like colored scarves and even shoelaces and socks. All the better if there’s official merchandise hiding in the dresser drawers. Whether it’s a faded old t-shirt or a brand-new jersey, it doesn’t matter. The longer it’s been around, the longer the owner has been a fan!
Be Safe
Provide plenty of water and make it readily available. Monitor guests’ alcohol intake and ensure at least a few designated drivers are available on party day. If nothing else, download a ride-sharing app and use it for party guests. It’s important for all attending to have fun but also to be safe.
Baseball season is a great time for family and friends to get together. Enjoying time with loved ones is one of the most important things in life, and throwing a celebration with baseball at the center is a great old-fashioned way to do it!
