1 – Arrange your code so that it is neat

However, if you are looking for a way to increase the speed of your blog, then you need to put your CSS files at the top of your HTML page, and your JavaScript code at the bottom of you HTML code. 2 – GZIP compression may help you speed up your blog

It is able to minimize the size the HTTP responses on your browser. It basically speeds up the loading time of your website or blog. You can turn it on in three ways, with two of them being coding methods (which is too complex to explain here). The third way is for if you use a CMS. If you do then you just need to find a GZIP compression plugin and let it do the work for you.

 

3 – Get rid of any unnecessary plugins

These are the plugins and the scripts that are available all over the Internet. They are used in blogs and browsers and a whole host of other extendible programs. It is your job to remove them because they are quietly slowing down your blog. Your blog does not need all of this extra data, nor does it need all of this extra code to sort through. The effect of removing your unneeded plugins may be small, but it is an effect none the less. Ask yourself if the function of your plugin is really worth the site speed you are trading for it.

 

4 – Use content delivery networks

These are called CDNs and they consist of a large number of servers that are arranged as a network around the world. You store your information onto one of these servers which then copies it amongst all of the others servers. If a user logs onto your site and wants to see the file you uploaded, then they get to see it from the server that is the closest to them. This allows you to provide your user with the file in a far more fast and efficient way than if you were to have placed the file onto your own host server.

 

5 – Browser caching is going to increase your browser speed

This technology allows a browser to store your pages in a temporary file. That way if a user re-visits the same page, then they do not have to load it up again. This will make your website or blog run a lot faster. The caching technology will save a lot of the page elements for future occasions too, just so long as the user does not dump the cached information on a regular basis. If your blog is regularly attended by the same person, then the cache technology is going to save him or her a lot of time.

 

6 – Update the scripts on your site

You may have an eCommerce platform that runs your blog, or you may have a CMS that runs your blog. Whatever you use to create and maintain your blog, you should keep it up to date. The developers are always improving CMS platforms and other such things because it is in their interest to do so. It keeps their platforms secure and up to date, which is good for keeping customers coming back. You should update your scripts whenever you can so that you are sure that they will run quickly.

 

7 – Change the size of your images before you upload them

Even if you use a CMS, you will notice that you can adjust the size of images with web coding. The CMS will size the image for you, or you can do it manually with HTML code. However, this causes the browser to execute commands when there is no need for the extra browser work. You can size your images before you upload them, and then there is no need for the web browser to do any further work on your behalf.
