The Best Smartphones Today

There’s more than enough smartphones in the market, but they’re not built equally, with some having more features and easier to use than others. Though there are endless numbers of smartphones available, you can just narrow your choices to the three below.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Samsung Galaxy Note 3The Galaxy Note 3 has a lot of noteworthy features, but the one that really stands out is its 5.7-inch HD display, and it also has a new and powerful quad core processor. The Note 3, and its S Pen has been upgraded as well. The Note 3 has also taken steps to increase the battery life, and the smartphone also makes it easy for you to make calls and snap photos.

In terms of design, the Note 3 looks sharper and sleeker than the Note 2, and the camera is just as good as the one on the S4. No question about it, the Note 3 is a huge upgrade over the Note 2. The 5.7 inch display is in full HD, and the S Note app has been revamped as well. The processor is much more powerful and it uses Flipboard technology for its news app.

The full HD display is 1,920 x 1,080 pixels or 385 ppi. What this means is you get some incredibly sharp images. This kind of detail isn’t available in other smartphones, and when you compare the images the Note 3 is much, much sharper. Because of the rich colors, videos and images are more pleasing to look at.

The Note 3 also has a 13 megapixel camera with LED flash, and if you take off the rear cover you will see that it has a removable and high capacity 3,200mAh battery. A microSD card slot is included. The SD card slot is set on the micro-SIM bay, so you need to take out the battery if you want to add more capacity.

The pen stylus meanwhile, can be found on the bottom lip of the Note 3, and over the display you will see a two megapixel camera. These are good for taking self portraits and can also be used for video chatting. With all these features it is easy to see why the Note 3 is considered one of the best smartphone products out there. iPhone 5S

iPhone 5SThe 5S comes with several improvements, including a motion tracking app, and a powerful CPU for running several apps. In addition, Apple has bundled in the iWork apps at no extra cost. The 5S also has the AirDrop for file transferring, and the iPhone now has a control center similar to the one for Android.

The design is similar to the iPhone 5 but comes in gold or gray, and it is lighter and it is thinner. As far as capacity goes you can choose from 16, 32 and 64 GB, and they all have the same A7 processor.

But the biggest improvement here is the camera. The camera on the iPhone is good, but on the 5S is even better. It is an 8 megapixel camera that has a bigger sensor so the pixels are bigger than ever. The aperture is also bigger, all of which translates to better and bigger pictures.

In addition to that, the A7 processor allows for burst mode shooting. Just press the shutter and you can take as many shots as you like. As far as the exterior design is concerned, it is very much like the iPhone 5 and is still light and attractive. The controls are still very good and easy to use, and you can still download as many apps as you like. The AirDrop feature is really nice and works as well as advertised.

If you are among those who works with a lot of files, and the battery life is quite long. If you have the iPhone 5, this is worth the upgrade as several new features have been implemented. On the surface it might look the same as the previous iPhone, but under the hood there are plenty of differences, making it one of the best out there.

Motorola Droid Maxx

Motorola Droid MaxxThere are plenty of reasons why the Droid Maxx is considered one of the best smartphones today. First of all it has one of, if not the longest battery life among smartphones. Second, the design and screen is large and colorful. But that isn’t all, as the Droid has full support for voice commands, something that isn’t well implemented in other smartphones. In addition to this, the Droid has several screen notifications that you will find useful.

The Droid also has a camera, and it comes with a quick launching feature so if you want to take pictures, it is easy to do so, and the design is very pleasing to the eye. It looks similar to the Ultra, but is just a little thicker.

As far as the display goes, it is 5 inches HD OLED, and very crisp. The resolution is 720p 1,280 x 720 pixels, which makes for some pretty vivid images. The colors are not just clear, but the contrast is very sharp and distinct, and the black levels are as good as it gets. Viewing websites, videos, documents and HD trailers isn’t going to stress your eyes, unlike with other smartphones.

The internal components are just as noteworthy, as the Motorola comes with the X8 Mobile Computing System. This is a proprietary processor that provides a lot of speed, and it is a dual core processor that packs a lot of power. The power might not be comparable to those of other smartphones, but that’s all right because the Droid has the X8 dual core Adreno graphics. In addition the unit also has a processor for contextual computing and one for natural language.

The Droid also has 2 GB of RAM, so you can run a number of apps without slowing down. The Droid Maxx comes with 32 GB of internal memory, and though it doesn’t have an SD slot, it is spacious. The Maxx runs on Android 4.22, the home screen is easy to navigate, and the panels have shortcuts for your apps, a nice touch.

There are also several widgets here, and one of the most useful is Circles as it shows the weather, and from it you can access the system settings. You can also share video and images with other Android users, a really nice feature.

If you’re on the lookout for some good smartphones, then any of these three will do fine. It’s true there are several other smartphones, but when it comes to features and ease of use, these three are a cut above the rest.
