Samsung Might Have A Exynos 5440 Quad-Core CPU In Development

Rumors Of Samsung

Rumors are making their rounds saying that Samsung Electronics is working on developing a faster version of their quad-core Exynos processor line (crossing my fingers for 2.0GHz here!). Based off of a report from SamMobile, Samsung is developing a new system-on-a-chip (SoC) processor known as the Exynos 5440. It is said to be based off of ARM’s new Cortex A15 technology. This latest information is starting to line up fairly with with some earlier rumors that have mentioned Samsung’s “next big thing.” We all know that Samsung working on a successor to the extremely popular Galaxy S III is no surprise, and I’m sure a lot of us would appreciate a extremely powerful Galaxy S IV.

Unfortunately Samsung

Unfortunately there aren’t any other details like processor speeds. I get excited at the thought that we could see something more powerful than what the Galaxy Note II is packing. Maybe a 1.8GHz quad-core CPU? A 2.0GHz even? I’m probably dreaming here, but if it were to be a 2.0GHz CPU, I wouldn’t be that surprised. I mean, just think about how fast technology advances. Regardless, a Galaxy S IV is starting to sound extremely promising, especially if their is a quad-core Exynos CPU in the works based off of the Coretex A15 technology. We already have a dual-core CPU based off of the A15 technology, but a quad-core could do wonders.

As we get closer and closer to a possible reveal at the Mobile World Congress next year, I’m sure we’ll be seeing a whole lot more rumors start to surface. We’ll be sure to keep you updated!
