Moto G vs Samsung Galaxy Grand 2

Right now, there’s a lot of confusion between these two devices and the reason to that lies somewhere in between the specifications offered and price that has been fixed. Though there are less number of customers who prefer to look for unofficial development happening through forums like XDA, the Moto G has already received a rooting tutorial. You can follow this simple tutorial to how to root Moto G and start customizing it with your requirements. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2’s development is on the slow track.

If you’re the one who doesn’t depend on this development stuff, you got to watch out for the following set of differences. In each section, I’ve declared one winner which will help you in making your decision.

Display

If you love gigantic displays and don’t care much about the resolution or quality, get yourself a Grand 2. If you’re a person like me who cares a lot about the resolution, viewing angles and quality of the display, Moto G is your choice. This section depends totally on the personal choice and therefore I wouldn’t add any winner over here.

Operating System

Moto G is the clear winner! Why? The device has received Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update already and on the other hand, Samsung has never come out and commented on the roll out plans for Grand 2. That’s disappointing. Isn’t it?

Processor and RAM

While nobody is sure about the processor running on the Grand 2, the Snapdragon 400 clocked at 1.2 GHz quad core on Moto G is quite wonderful. Unavailibility of the information regarding the processor on Grand 2 makes it hard for me to announce the winner. However, when it comes to RAM, the Grand 2 is ahead of Moto G by almost 512 MB.

If you’re to be considering the real life performance and smoothness, Moto G wins this segment.. again!

Weight

Though I don’t give much importance to the weight, the Moto G feels little lighter than the Grand 2. Though this can be predicted from the screen size, it does make it a winner once again.

Camera

The 8 megapixel shooter from the Grand 2 is definitely gonna produce better pictures than the 5 megapixel from Moto G. There’s no doubt. However, the 5 megapixel from Moto G isn’t disappointing. It produces some of the decent quality pictures but the winner here is Grand 2.
