The CEO of the largest social networking site Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg is stepping up his plans to overthrow other social network sites off the social network radar. And he has really done alot to achieve to this singular goal. He and his team are working tirelessly to ensure, this comes to reality. Facebook was rumored to have held a briefing at their headquarters for the unveiling of a video-sharing app Instagram which they have already acquired.

The video-sharing application Instagram is reported to have been acquired by Facebook last year for more than $1 US billion dollars. The video tool of Instagram is expected to duel with Twitters video sharing app Vine a popular application for Apple Inc iPhone. Facebook issued out a press invite invitation using snail mail late last week. The press invitation says “A small team has been working on a big idea. Join us for coffee and learn about a new product”.

The announcement is expected to hold on 20th June 2013. There have been leaked reports by the popular TechCrunch site and also other media houses that the Instagram team is planning to add video sharing features to the Instagram app. The app is reported to have ability to display videos of still photos of friends and other personal photos.

According to Matthew Keys the former media editor at Reuters, the feature would enable users to upload between 5 to 15 seconds of video. Instagram already has over 120 million active users who upload more than 40 million photos everyday. Twitter’s Vine app already allows users to upload six-second videos and it is more popular among iPhone users.

Tucker Bounds a representative of Facebook was contacted but refused to comment about the event as Facebook does not respond to rumors or media speculations. Facebook currently has over 1.15 active billion users with aim of pushing up their popularity. Facebook is currently the leader of the largest global social networking world with expectations to step up their scale.

What do you think about this step Facebook is about taking ? Will it help them continue to dominate the social network world or not.
