Call of Duty: Ghosts
New information on the next Call of Duty has been revealed. The game, named Call of Duty: Ghosts, follows the Call of Duty series’ development cycle and is being developed by Infinity Ward. Curiously, unlike other recent Call of Duty games developed by the studio, this one doesn’t bear the Modern Warfare moniker.
According to All Games Beta, details of the game were revealed through a listing of the game on UK supermarket Tesco’s website, which was promptly pulled down. It had, among other things, a description for the game that mentioned a new game engine.

Here is the description of the game according to the listing: “The franchise that has defined a generation of gaming is set to raise the bar once again with the all-new Call of Duty: Ghosts. Published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward, the studio that created the original Call of Duty and the seminal Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series.
“Call of Duty: Ghosts ushers in the next generation of the franchise, delivering a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast, all powered by a new next-generation Call of Duty engine.”
The new engine is especially worth noting, since so far the series has been running on a highly-modified version of Quake III Arena’s id Tech 3 engine. A new engine would mean that the games would have much better graphics than the previous games. Also, considering the fact that CoD: Ghosts is going to be released on the current-gen consoles, Infinity Ward may also be trying to push out as much fidelity as it possibly can while still maintaining a stable framerate of 60 FPS.
