5 Most Affordable Tablets by HCL

Tablets have increasingly taken over the tech market in the past few years. At one side there are so many variants trying to beat each other with the latest technology, and on the other side there’s HCL. While other tablets are running on dual core or quad core processors, HCL has changed the game with their single-core tablets with calling features.

HCL ME U2: 7 inch screen with 800 X 480 pixels resolution makes for a decent display. The device has multi-touch capacitive screen, powered by 1 GHz cortex A8 CPU with GC430 GPU and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The battery life is quite impressive at 3100 mAh and the device also has 4 GB internal memory which can be expanded to up to 32 GB with a MicroSD card. The tablet supports 2G calls and has a decent front facing camera but no rear camera which might become a problem for some.

HCL ME V1 has a primary 2MP camera and runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 while HCL ME U2 does not have a rear camera and runs on an older OS. This device also has WiFi and 2G connectivity for calls and internet browsing.

Price – Rs. 6,500

HCL ME Y4: Powered by 1.2GHz Cortex A9 Dual Core CPU, it’s quite a decent device for everyday usage. This device has a bigger display of 7.5 inches and also supports 3G voice and video calling. But the OS is quite outdated running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

Price – Rs. 6,600

HCL ME Y3: A dual SIM tablet with 3G connectivity, this gadget is one step ahead of all the previously discussed devices. Powered by 1 GHz processor, runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich v4.0.4 coupled with a 3.2 MP Primary camera, this should be quite a decent device to use for calls, internet usage and some entertainment as well.

Price – Rs. 7,700

HCL ME G1: One very evident difference between this tab and others available in the market is that this one does not have a Google Play store. In fact, none of the HCL tabs have one. However, there’s an HCL ME store where you can download a few popular Apps. Other than that it’s a very good tablet with a massive 9.7 inch LCD IPS display and powered by ARM Cortex A9 1.2 GHz Dual Core Processor. 4G and 3G connectivity is enabled on this device along with all the other features offered by its sibling products.
