The Bible offers a lot of wisdom and insight when it comes to money. As Proverbs 23:5 states “Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.”
However, from birth to death in the majority of all cultures, people need money in some form for their basic needs and wants. Throughout our lives, some of us fall into a pit of debt, whether that is from losing a job or spending recklessly, the best way to get out of debt is to reduce sources of debt.
On a deeper level though, you have to think to yourself why do we as a society put so much emphasis on money? You may have come to that point where you are putting together a list of reasons that you should break free from the old way of thinking and say that life shouldn’t revolve around money.
Coming up with valid reasons may be tough, but today we will go over the top three reasons that your life shouldn’t revolve around money. Let’s get started!
Three Simple Reasons to Not Give Money First Place in Your Life
1. Life Is Short
You may live to be a 100 years or old if you eat right and take good care of yourself; however, life is not a matter of how many years you live as it’s a matter of how you use that time and money in order to be happy.
The problem for many people is that they do everything to make money sacrificing everything, and spend their entire life working for money. In the end, their wealth will either be spent at the hospital because of a medical condition or be passed on to other people when they die.
The point here is to enjoy what you have so you can reflect back on a full life.
2. We Can Exist Without Money
Nowadays, many people believe that they can’t survive without money. If this is true, why do other people without money still exist in this world?
You may think that these people are the beggars you see in the street, but you may not yet be familiar that there are still many people who live in seemingly uninhabitable places in this world, yet they thrive based upon what they have learned from generation to generation and not based upon material commercialism.
3. Be Satisfied to Be Happy
They say that one of the most cherished aspects of life particularly in the workforce is to be happy. Most wealthy people are constantly driven to make more as no amount never seems to be enough. In short, they’re not content with what they have.
On the other hand, there are many people who don’t have a lot who are happy in this life. As a matter of fact, those people are the ones who are more capable of helping others. When you ask help from people who are continent with what they have, most of them will do their best to help you with what they have.
Being content with what you have is the first step towards true happiness!
Money isn’t everything; however, many people have different opinions of this statement. There are still people who value life more than money.
Money is just an expression of value, and it’s how you value everyday objects. The problem many people have is that they even spend their lives chasing money rather than investing to make their own lives better.
