Phones with projectors: Of late, Samsung launched its new Galaxy Beam smartphone that have a built-in projector. But this is not the only phone that comes equipped with a projector. There are many other phones that offer the same functionality. Here is our pick of phones that come engineered with projectors, which allow users to display and share multimedia content anywhere on a large luminous projector screen – walls, ceilings or improvised flat surfaces.

Samsung’s Galaxy Beam: The Samsung Galaxy Beam comes equipped with a 15 lumens projector. Powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor, the phone has a 4.0-inch (480×800) TFT display. The phone has a 5 megapixel autofocus rear camera with flash and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. Measuring 12.5mm thin, the phone has a 2000mAh battery. This is not the first projector smartphone from Samsung. A similar product, which was also called the Beam, was launched in 2010.

Spice’s M-9000 Popkorn: The Spice Popkorn Projector M9000 mobile comes with an inbuilt projector. It also sports a laser pointer, which is very useful while making presentations. Other features include a 2.36-inch QVGA screen, dual GSM SIM, quad band capability and 3.2 megapixel camera.

G’Five’s G5 projector dual SIM phone: It is a dual SIM projector mobile phone that features a 2.4-inch TFT display. It sports a 2 megapixel camera. The projector’s lens is located at the top of the handset. It also comes with a focus adjustment dial. Like all projectors, Pico or HD, the G5 also tends to heat up quite a bit when in constant use.

The projector’s lens is located at the top of the handset. It also comes with a focus adjustment dial. Like all projectors, Pico or HD, the G5 also tends to heat up quite a bit when in constant use.

LG’s Expo: It is touted to be the the first 1GHz phone in the US. But it’s USP is that it has an optional pico projector which a user can slap onto the back. Running Windows Mobile 6.5, the phone has a 3.2-inch touchscreen. The phone does not have an in-built projector.

Micromax’s X40 projector phone: It is a dual SIM phone with a built-in projector, which comes with a portable tripod stand. Intex’s 8809 V.show: It is a second projector phone from Intex. This is also a dual SIM phone but features a 2.4-inch screen. It has a 1000mAh battery. The phone sports only a 2 megapixel rear camera.

The Maxx Focus (MTP9): It has an in-built projector along with a 5 megapixel camera, 2.8 inch screen, 208 MHz processor. It also comes with a free projector stand. The phone is Java-enabled and its Opera Mini application provides users on-the-go browsing. The phone has a 1200 mAh battery.
