TweetDeck rolls out new UI to Mac and Windows
TweetDeck’s layout refresh has finally made its way to the Mac and Windows versions of the app. The new-look Twitter client has undergone a major revamp when it comes to the UI and navigation. In addition, the client is also available as a web version.
The entire top navigation panel has now moved to the left-edge of the screen. You will find the New Tweet button, links to your customised columns and search on the vertical bar in the app. It will be easier to add newer columns within your app now. All you need to do is click the add column on the left toolbar. You can also adjust the placement of the columns by dragging icons within the left column. To check out which column is represented by each, you can click on the expand column to pull the sidebar out onto the screen.
The left side of your screen will run TweetDeck for you
The Mac version of TweetDeck additionally includes a new translation feature, as well as the ability to filter interactions for mentions, retweets, favourites, followers and lists. You will also be able to filter your search columns by engagement i.e. number of retweets, favourites and replies, if you use TweetDeck on your Mac.
It must be noted that Twitter has officially killed the mobile and AIR versions of TweetDeck by retiring API v1 in favour of the newer API v1.1. The retirement pretty much marks the end of not just TweetDeck for Android, iOS and Adobe AIR but also third-party apps like SilverBird and the desktop-based Destroy Twitter. TweetDeck, of course, is free for both currently-supported platforms and you can grab the app for Chrome, Windows and Mac. You can also use it on the web.[source:tech2]
